Out of the 18 years we’ve been doing this, these are the questions we get asked most.

do you kill the bees?

No, we are live bee removal specialists. We do not exterminate. We pride ourselves in having competitive prices with extermination companies so that our customers opt to choose us.

Can I just plug the hole that they are coming in and out of?

Honeybees build honeycomb extremely fast. Once they’ve been there for 1-2 days they have already started building. Once honeycomb is established, it needs to be removed and cleaned so that other bees don’t smell it. When other scout bees smell honeycomb, they think it’s a good place to live and may find another spot to move into. Plugging up the hole will only make the problem persist.

How do you collect the bees?

We find the queen of the hive and gently place her in a queen cage. Think of it as a really tricky game of Where’s Waldo! Once that’s done, we place her in our transport box and the rest of the hive will follow her into the box.

i still see bees after the removal, why are they still around?

Not all honeybees are at their hive during the removal. Many of them are off foraging and come back later. You may see a ball of bees wondering where their hive is, but they end up leaving after a few days. If they do not leave after a week, we will come back free of charge to take care of it.

Where do you take the bees after the removal?

We donate all of our bees to local beekeepers where they place these hives in apiaries and various properties in San Diego County. This is great for our vegetation!
